We are presently experiencing a moral bankruptcy rarely, if ever, seen in our history. This indicates a desperate need for revival. There is only one response for the condition in which we find our country, our community, our culture, our church, ourselves: revival.

When evil and wickedness seem to grow like weeds, God has often graciously given his people, often a remnant, a deep yearning for relief that knows no other language than the cry for deliverance through revival.

The time is again today ripe for an outcry to heaven from God’ people, who sense that things have gotten out of hand, that the forces of sin, evil, idolatry, and destruction are beyond our ability to contain. We need revival.

Revival is the prerogative of God and His special work. It is His move ALONE. Today we embark on a study of revival in the Bible in order to see how those who experienced revivals prepared and waited for revival.

Psalm 85 is a revival prayer from the post-exilic period. Here we learn how we, too, can pray for revival.

-- Pray that God would grant us restoration as in times past (85:1-3).

-- Pray that God would grant us joy and love in our times (85:4-7).

-- Pray that God would grant us His peace and His presence in our land (85:8-9).

-- Pray that God would grant us a glimpse of eternity (85:10-13).
