About Angel Tree Ministry
Every child has a story. For 2.7 million American children, that story is filled with the abandonment, loneliness, and shame that come from having a mom or dad in prison. For many, it may also include following their parents down the same destructive road to incarceration.
Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. This unique program gives our church an opportunity to share Christ's love by helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families, especially the children, of prisoners.
Each Christmas, Byron City proudly sponsors an Angel Tree filled the names of at least 20 children in need. We collect gift suggestions from inmates for their children, so they receive a gift 'from the parent.' Each gift is usually under $20. Once those gifts are purchased, an Angel Tree Christmas party is held where recipient families are invited to come and receive their gifts in person, so that we may love on them, encourage them, and share the hope of Christ with them!
The Angel Tree program thru Prison Fellowship since 1982 has supported over 9 MILLION kids with a gift and has shared the gospel with countless more families and incarcerated parents!
Each child needs to know that Jesus Loves Them! Angel Tree Ministry helps ensure they do
