The church in the 21st century has a genuine problem -- lagging and declining church attendance. People today seem to have the idea that they’re doing God a favor when they come to church on Sunday morning, and that they need not attend church on a regular basis.

In the New Testament if one willingly and deliberately missed the assembly of the saints, the coming together as a church, the churchy assumed that person either never had been saved, or that they had fallen away from grace. They assumed that you the absentee member gone back into the world and fallen away from the Lord or that they never had a personal, genuine relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is because they saw worship not only as a privilege, but also as a solemn and sacred duty!
