In the late 80s Coca Cola wasted multi-millions of dollars bringing out the “New” Coke? They thought they need to improve on their product. Irate customers around the globe protested and wouldn’t drink the new stuff.
Coca Cola almost immediately decided the old drink wasn’t so bad after all. This time they returned to the old formula, and decided that they needed to get back to the basics. Doing so was a success for them.
The Apostle Paul noticed that the believers in Corinth, too, had gotten away from the correct fundamentals. It was distorting their faith, and contorting their living. In 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 he brings the Corinthian believers back to the basics of the resurrection of Christ.
Don’t think a return to the fundamentals is a sign of failure – in reality, like classic coke, it’s the path to ultimate success. Let's return to the simplistic beauty of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
